Carolyne and I didn't do any planning for our anniversary, I guess because we were both consumed with managing her health to actually be able to celebrate this one together. She was to have surgery in just a week as the second battle of three in this her third war against cancer. That battle, it appears at this point, was successful.

But, Sheryl Belson, her brother's wife did have plans for us. She came down from Dallas, prepared and served us the wonderful meal listed on the board above. To the left you see Sheryl and me busily setting up for the feast. I'm posting the menu while Sheryl refers to her recipes.

Above, Sheryl is focused on the green bean bundles, but you can also see the apple glazed pork loin in the foreground, and the cream of vegetable soup in the background. I can't imagine how we missed getting a photo of the pop-over apple pie other than the fact that we were intimately involved with it and taking pictures wasn't even remotely in the back of our minds.

Above, Carolyne and I pose just before diving in. To the left Carolyne has begun enjoying the soup.

Thanks, Sheryl, for making this a memorable anniversary!

AND, MANY MORE!
