Back to Olympic Peninsula

On to Lake Crescent and Hurricane Ridge

Our last day on the road was quite busy. We left Manatou Lodge and headed north, then east on highway 101. Before reaching Lake Crescent we took a spur south, back into the park to Sol Duc Hot Springs. On the way we stopped at Salmon Cascades where we watched salmon traveling up river. We journeyed on to the park's Hot Springs facility, hiking from there to Sol Duc Falls.

Salmon Cascades

The trail to Salmon Cascades was lovely. We spent quite a while watching the salmon make their way up the small falls. Photographing them was another issue.
I wish I had our digital camera on this trip because I ended up with a lot of film not showing a salmon jumping.

From here we went to Sol Duc Hot Springs. The place was packed with people. I guess because it was the last weekend before school started.

We took the trail to the much larger Sol Duc Falls.

Along the falls trail.
