As you can see from the photo above, there was considerable labor involved in our first such 'holiday' season at The Land. The property was not groomed for who knows how long. So, Lynne & John helped considerably in this, the beginning of that grooming pro cess..

Calie didn't quite get the concept of the place, which is understandable given her age and normal environment. So, she was into the plastic palace entertainment system from the beginning. She's mellowed since.

Lynne, on the other hand, seemed to 'get into it' with the 4-wheeler (the Fant's contribution at this point) experience of investigating the trails in the abundant National Forest trails surrounding us. Carolyne helped a lot, as you can see.
John and Calie relaxing in the swing in between the house and the 'gazebo'.
As evening unfolds we prepare a fire around which evening social gathering will evolve as the sun goes down.
Sometimes a hazy mist is the dominate ambiance of The Land. This photo was take on day when Carolyne was resting in the swing in front of the house as the sun faded.
After sunset, when the fire has reached its opportune capability to produce world-class some-mores, that's exactly what happens. This is Lynne in the process of preparing one while Daryl watches on.
Look closely (by clicking on the photo to see a larger version) to see where Lynne prepared her bed, in the 'gazebo' for a night's sleep in the 'wild'.

Among the 'labor' included David's contribution to the land clearing efforts. Here he is with his John Deere scraping away underbrush just south of the house.

This is a continuing process.
