One day Ira Bob and I took a tour around the Island. Though we did see a town or two, the attraction for us was the natural beauty of the place. A place etched in my memory was Stony Creek, above and to the left. This is where I once witnessed 'Swims with fishes' doing his thing.
I promised myself to remember the name of this lovely lake just doen the road from the town of Thorne Bay, but I didn't.
East of Thorne BAy we stopped at Slide Creek because not only was its beauty alluring, but it was full to the brim with salmon.
See what I mean?
Up from the creek a piece, there were some youngsters enjoying the 'warm' day in the water. They had a fireas well. We weren't tempted to try the water.
We just poked around and kept all our clothes on.
This is the Thorne Bay town dock where we came several times to reprovision.

From town to the moorings.

From the moorings to town

This prety much concluded our trip. Soon we were waiting at the dock for the float plane to arrive for our trip back to Ketchikan.
Danny Fikes teased us by catching salmon off the Floatel dock as we waited for the plane.

This is the Fikes Family bidding us goodbye.

Danny, Dick and Charolette.
